To approve the award of funding
of £20,000 per annum for three years to Inspire Youth Zone
for the provision of detached youth work.
 
Reasons for recommendations
The existing provision of
detached youth work by Inspire Youth Zone has been highly
successful in supplementing the work of undertaken at the Youth
Zone itself. Granting the service for a period of three years will
provide stability to the provision.
 
Other
options considered and rejected

1.     
To invite bids from alternative providers was
rejected as Inspire Youth Zone has proved a tried, tested and
trusted delivery partner.

2.     
To not use the £20,000 for a detached youth
programme was rejected as this would represent a reduction in the
offer for young people’s development support in
Chorley.
