Recommendations
approved.

Reasons for recommendations

1.
The grant funding will enable the business to
further develop and support      their sustainable
practices and carbon reduction, thus reducing food miles and
providing sustainably farmed meat products. It will assist with the
delivery of the following outcomes:
·
Reduction in fossil fuel use
·
Reduction in greenhouse gas emissions
·
Production of cheaper, green energy

2.
The proposals support the Councils Net Zero
Policy.

Other
options considered and rejected

1.
The options of not granting this application will
have long-term impacts.

2.
Without this grant, the project may still go ahead
but certainly not during this financial year. The grant will allow
them to bring forward phase 2 of their overall greener energy plan
and further growth plans. Both plans will enable them to remain
competitive not only in a challenging sector, but during
challenging economic times, benefits of which will be passed on to
clients and residents of Chorley and further afield.

3.
The quotes received and business plan completed have
identified costs, with the outputs matching and contributing to the
Council’s long-term agenda on the net zero
targets.
