Reasons for
recommendations
To allow the progression of the design
development process on the Ackhurst
site redevelopment to support the depot relocation project.
 
To mitigate the risk to Brownfield Land
Release funding secured on the existing Depot site on Bengal St by
supporting the progression of the relocation and allow funded works
on the Bengal St site to progress to completion.
 
The successful bid justified
through a competitive tender process via the BLOOM framework, that
has been evaluated on a price and quality basis, that they offer
value for money, have the necessary skills and experience to
undertake the works.
 
Other
options considered and rejected
To award the contract to
another contractor. This has been rejected as the tender process
has demonstrated that the successful bid offered the best value
proposal.
 
To delay the contract award to
a later date.  This option has been
rejected as this would essentially delay progress putting grant
funding at risk.
