recommendation
Following recent negotiations
between the parties the proposed terms have been provisionally
agreed by the Estates and Assets Manager and reflect current market
conditions within the Market Walk Centre and are in line with other
recent lease agreements.
 
Other
options considered and rejected
To accept an offer from a charity to occupy
the property on a nil rent basis, paying only service charge and
business rates. This option was rejected due to the Council not
receiving best value.
 
To continue to market the premises to achieve
a better offer. This option was rejected due to the terms
provisionally agreed with the party being in line with market rents
which demonstrates best value for the Council.
