Full council record
Purpose

Under
delegation from Cabinet, resolution 64 , dated 6 February 2025, to
seek approval for the award of funding to a project in the District
(see Annex 1), namely marketing training for visitor economy
businesses.

Content

The Chief Executive, in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for the Economy and
Transformation, resolved to approve the award of funding to a
project in the district(see Annex 1).

Reasons for the decision

The decision was taken to
enable the Council to make use of the UK Shared Prosperity Funding
allocated to it by Government and to approve a project which will
help the Council to deliver the outputs and outcomes set out in its
UKSPF Local Investment Plan.

Alternative options considered

The option of not awarding the
funding was considered but was ultimately rejected, as it would
have risked underspending the allocated budget and failing to
deliver the outputs and outcomes expected of the
Council.
