Purpose
To support the recommendations for an award of contract to the preferred tenderer for the delivery of key service in ensuring safety of residents and compliance with legislation and Council’s policy.
Award of Fire Risk Assessor contract to deliver quality Fire Risk Assessments to Council properties, and provision of impartial advice on report findings, aimed to support the varied needs of the property portfolios for housing, corporate and school buildings. Whilst ensuring it meets the Council’s ongoing requirements to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
The delivery of this service will align with the Council’s Fire Safety Policy which states:
• Ensuring properties containing Council homes have current Fire Risk Assessments with all recommendations actioned (e.g., covering communal areas, etc.)
• Ensuring Fire risk assessments are reviewed following significant changes or any fire events in properties containing Council homes.
