Purpose

This report outlines the approach to delivering a programme of capital improvement across Croydon’s outdoor tennis facilities, specifically the procurement process undertaken to contract the works.

The works have largely been funded through a grant from the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Parks Investment Fund with a small contribution of £54,300 made by the Council in the case of three courts which were not eligible for the grant scheme.

The LTA managed the procurement of the two framework contracts required (for court surface improvement and access control respectively) and Croydon Council is drawing on this process to award the contracts directly to these two suppliers and deliver the programme.

Decision

RESOLVED: To

1. The Approve the award of a contract for delivery of the programme of works for access control for a period of nine months (with a possible extension of three months) with a value set out in the Part B report, called off from the framework contract entered into by the relevant parties.
2. Approve the award of a contract for delivery of the tennis court surface works, for a period of nine months (with a possible extension of three months) with a value set out in the Part B report, called off from the framework contract entered into by the relevant parties.
