Purpose

This report provides an overview of Croydon’s current position in relation to adult education delivery and potential options for the council to consider going forward.

Decision

For the reasons as detailed in the report and appendices, the Executive Mayor and Cabinet AGREED to:

a)    Consider the Independent Rapid Review Report including the options for the future delivery of CALAT as set out in this report and at Appendix 1;

b)    Approve for consultation Option 3 (Fully Commissioned Delivery Model) as the future delivery model for Adult Learning Services in Croydon and as set out in Paragraphs 9.4 to 9.6 of this report; and

c)    Delegate authority to the Corporate Director of Place, in consultation with the Executive Mayor and Cabinet Member for Finance, to consider the outcome of the consultation and make the final decision on the proposed future delivery model and any actions required to implement the decision including any procurement related decision.
