Purpose

The Council is looking to consolidate its physical front door services.

Decision

For the reasons set out in this report and its appendices, the Executive Mayor and Cabinet AGREED:

  1. 1To approve, as part of the wider Town Hall Campus Programme, the consolidation of the following council customer facing services into a single ‘Front Door’ Service reception at Cavendish House, 51–55 South End, Croydon, CR0 1BF:

·         Housing Needs and Homelessness;

·         Youth Justice Service and Young Croydon;

·         Children Looked After – Care experienced children;

·         Children’s Early Help Triage;

·         Adult Social Care Triage; and

·         Parking Services.

  1. 2To consider the Equality Impact Assessment of the proposed consolidation of the ‘Front Door’ services at Cavendish House and to note the mitigations in place to further promote accessibility to services.
  2. 3To note that there are no adverse changes nor reduction to the current service provision arrangements.
  3. 4To note that the provision at Cavendish House will offer more interviews and assessments facilities and better family friendly spaces for customers.  
  4. 5To approve the retention of Cavendish House for this purpose and remove from the Council’s Tranche Two Disposal Programme.
  5. 6To delegate authority to the Corporate Director of Resources and Section 151 Officer, in consultation with the Executive Mayor and, the Deputy Executive Mayor and Cabinet Member for Finance, to implement this decision.
