Purpose

Permission to
procure a new hardware support and licensing contract for the
existing ICT Firewall equipment located at the two data centresfor
a period of 2 years.
 
This Firewall
equipment is part of the hosted service (Cumberland Council,
Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumbria Fire & Rescue
Services) ICT data centre estate.
 
In addition to the hardware support and licensing
contract permission is also sought to procure replacement hardware
for 4 x Firewall appliances that are due to become end of life in
December 2025.
Following a successful and compliant procurement
process permission is sought to delegate authority for the award of
the contract to the director of Business Transformation and Change
(Cumberland) and the Director of Enabler Services (Westmorland and
Furness Council).
