Enter into Basic Asset Protection Agreement
(BAPA) with Network Rail to engage/consult on potential repair
options for C76 Durranhill Viaduct C1045.
 

Reasons for the decision

Engagement with Network Rail regarding
potential repair solutions for C76 Durranhill Viaduct C1045 is
essential to fully understand repair costs and potential
constraints.  This will allow an
informed decision to be made on the preferred repair in the
future.
 

Alternative options considered

Not entering into the would mean that no
consultation with Network Rail was undertaken as part of the
commission and the repair solutions may not be feasible or asset
protection agreement costs for one option may mean it is less
favourable than initially anticipated. Undertaking the consultation
with Network Rail at a later stage once options have been
shortlisted or a preferred option selected is not feasible as
without the input from Network Rail the scale, cost and constraint
of any repair option cannot be fully understood and would be based
on assumptions.
