Purpose

On 14 October 2025 the
Executive will be asked to receive the latest information and
updates regarding the Government’s position on Devolution for
Cumbria. This will include any draft devolution agreements, draft
statutory instruments, timescales and proposed governance
arrangements together with all legal and financial implications.
The Executive will be making a decision to delegate the decision
making, following consideration by full Council, as to whether or
not to consent to the creation of a Mayoral Combined Authority for
Cumbria.
