Purpose

To carry out the procurement
process for countryside access maintenance works.
Countryside Access maintenance
works fulfil the Council’s duty as highway authority to
ensure the rights of way network is in a safe and usable condition.
The works that ensure this are carried out by numerous small and
medium contractors who deliver our works through a small works
framework.
Creating a matrix of quotes and
qualification to guide countryside staff when ordering works to be
carried out and to ensure value for money for the
Council.
The works involve vegetation
clearance, tree surgery, repairs to, or the installation of,
footbridges, gates, stiles and steps, surfacing and drainage works,
and the installation of signposts and waymarks.
