Purpose

This decision seeks permission
award a contract to provision a high-speed data network ring
between 4 key sites in the Cumbria area.

The Cumberland data ring will
offer a high-speed data network between the key anchor buildings
and data centres of Cumberland Council. The higher network speeds
offered by this solution will give significant enhancement to the
end user experience and allow large volumes of data to be
transferred quickly between sites without delay which will support
the Councils future data driven application needs.
 
The contract will be for a
period of 5 Years.
