 The
Highways and Transport Strategic Board (“the Board”)
was presented a report at its meeting on 10th November regarding the
proposed Cumberland Council (Various Roads, Carlisle Urban and
Rural Area)(Consolidation and Provision of Traffic Regulations)
Order 20>< (“the
Order”).
 
 A copy of the report is attached as Appendix 1. A
copy of the Minutes of the Meeting is attached as Appendix
2.
 
 As
the statutory advertisement and consultation period had not
concluded before the meeting on 10th November, the Board
resolved the following: -
 
“Following
consideration of the representations received in respect of the
Cumberland Council (Various Roads, Carlisle Urban and Rural Area)
(Consolidation and Provision of Traffic Regulations) Order
20>< (“the Order”), the Assistant Director of
Highways and Transport, following consultation with the Portfolio
Holder and the legally qualified officer of the Council be
delegated with the authority to decide whether to make the
Order.” (Minute Item HSTB.9/23)
refers).
 
Decision
That, having taken into
consideration the matters contained in Section 122(2) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which are more specifically referred
to in the Legal section of this Notice, that the Board agrees that
the Cumberland Council (Various Roads, Carlisle Urban and Rural
Area)(Consolidation and Provision of Traffic Regulations) Order
20>< (“the
Order”) be brought into operation, as
advertised, EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING: -

Cranbourne Road – Extension of the Zone E disc
zone into the Cul-de-sacs covering numbers 7-29 and 36-54 WHICH IS
NOT TO BE IMPLEMENTED
