Permission to go out to tender for the
procurement of adult fiction, adult non-fiction, young
people’s fiction and non-fiction books, government, and
reference material for Cumberland Library Service and on behalf of
Westmorland & Furness Libraries under the delegations approved
by the Joint Executive Committee on 19 September 2023 for a
three-year contract commencing on 1 February 2024 with the option
for 2 x one-year extensions (maximum five-year length) with a total
value of £1,900,000.
 
The Portfolio Holder from both Cumberland
Council and Westmorland and Furness Council and the relevant
Director of Westmorland and Furness Council will need to agree that
the decision should be taken in accordance with the delegations of
the Joint Executive Committee of 19 September 2023.
 
Permission is also sought to delegate the
decision to award to the Director of Resources.
