The Strategic Commissioning team is seeking
approval for the following:-
 
1.1. To host the procurement of an
Adoption Recruitment and Support Services Contract on behalf of
Cumberland and Westmorland & Furness Councils. The current
contract with Adopt Coast to Coast is due to end 31st
March 2024.

 
1.1.1.   
The Director of Childrens’ Services and Assistant Director
Children and Families in Westmorland and Furness are supportive of
this request in the context of the current situation and the
potential for change.

 
1.1.2.   
Expectations are that the provider will source and secure adoptive
placements for 16 Children.
 
1.1.3.   
Proposed contract term:
Start Date: 1st
April 2024
End Date:
31st March 2027, with the option to extend by a further
2 periods of 12 months if required.
 
1.1.4.   
The countywide annual cost of the contract is estimated to be
£0.526m from April 2024. The contract will be advertised with
a total potential value of £2.750 million for
the five year period to allow for further inflationary increases.
Only secured placements will be paid for.

 
1.2.  To approve under Part 2, Section 6 of the
Constitution, the delegation of authority to award the contract for
an Adoption Recruitment and Support Service to the Director of
Children & Family Wellbeing.
