Reasons for the decision

The total available funding required for the Phase 1 BSIP means that a director decision is required for to award the contracts. 

Alternative options considered

The Council could choose to return the grants to DfT, this is not considered be an appropriate option as the option as the Council would lose the opportunity for up £2.4m of revenue investment in bus services.
