Permission was given to commence a Regulated
Procurement exercise for an Open Framework for the provision of
Targeted Short Break Activities for Children with Disabilities in
Cumberland. The Framework would commence 01 February 2025, for an
initial period of 16 months (ending 31 May 2026), with one optional
extension of up to 12 months, up to a maximum value of
£392,044.33. And to commence a Regulated Procurement exercise
to procure Targeted Short Break Activities for Children with
Disabilities via mini competition under the new Targeted Short
Break Framework (“The Framework”), up to a maximum
value of £392,044.33.

It was agreed that the appointment of
Providers to the Framework (for providers that meet or exceed the
published tender criteria) is delegated to the Relevant Senior
Manager in Children’s Services, following the initial tender
exercise and the award of all services called off the Framework is
delegated to the Assistant Director of Children & Families.

Reasons for the decision

The current Framework and all current
Activities cease on 31 January 2025. A timely procurement exercise
is required to ensure the continuity of services for families.

Alternative options considered

1.
Extend the existing Framework.
2.
Do not authorise the procurement exercise and allow the Framework
to end.
