About

The Licensing and Health and Safety Enforcement Committee is responsible for making decisions on various licences and authorisations issued by the Council, as well as exercising powers related to health and safety enforcement. It acts as the Council's licensing committee under the Licensing Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2005.

The committee handles applications for, and decisions on, licences for activities such as alcohol sales, gambling, taxi services, animal welfare establishments, food businesses, and street trading. It also has powers concerning health and safety enforcement for businesses and the designation of public places for alcohol consumption restrictions.
