Purpose

To dispose of HRA land behind 56 & 58 Wood
Crescent/ Crabtree Lane.

Decision

4.1Option 1 - Sell the land on the open
market, which will contribute a capital receipt to the
Council.
4.2Option 2 - Return the land to 56 & 58 Wood Crecent as garden
land – This is currently uncosted, but an estimate of
£20,000 is assumed to include new fencing and the removal of
outbuildings.
4.3Option 3 - Convert into an alternative community use –
This has not been costed and would involve consultation to
ascertain what the ‘community use’ could be.
4.4Option 4 - Do nothing – We will likely receive a new
enquiry from the Secretary of State. The legal costs to defend this
are unknown. We will also incur maintenance costs to keep the land
in order.

Alternative options considered

The area is deemed not viable for the HRA to
develop for housing a decision has been made to sell the land on
the open market.
