Purpose

Decision:

Reason: MHCLG require responses to the representations set out below in order to progress the drafting of the SCO. The responses have been developed based on discussions in the Chief Executive Co-ordination Group, (CECG), and Hertfordshire Leaders Group (HLG) and include proposals on governance models, committee membership, implementation arrangements, electoral matters, and council naming.
The proposed responses and rationale are explained in Appendix 1, and the final response will be sent in a template which is annexed as Appendix 2 to be consistent with the approach that other authorities have taken when responding to MHCLG requests.

Decision

To agree proposed responses to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) regarding the content of the Local Government Reorganisation Structural Changes Order (SCO) for Hertfordshire for submission by the required deadlines as set out in Appendix 1 and Appendix 2.
