Purpose

The redevelopment of Paradise Depot will cause
significant injury (loss of light) to the adjoining Park House and
Resurgam House. 4x other neighbouring sites would also be affected
but the injury to these is less severe.
It is recommended that Dacorum Borough Council should consider
taking out an insurance policy to protect against potential
compensation claims from affected neighbouring interests. Initial
calculations indicate compensation costs could total £738k if
all the affected interests were to come forward with a claim.

Decision

To proceed with the recommended MX
Underwriting insurance policy, at a cost of £108,640, prior
to the commencement of demolition works on the 6th November
2023.
