Decision
Decision made and reasons:
1.
To engage ADL Traffic & Highways Engineering Ltd
consultants to undertake an informal consultation on the proposal
tointroduce parking restrictions on High
Street, Bovingdon. The proposed parking restrictions
are:

A Goods Loading only bay restricted from 8am to 6pm
Monday to Saturday with no return within 1 hour
·
A Disabled Badge Holder only parking bay restricted
to a maximum of 3 hours parking for blue badge holders only from
8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday with no return within 1
hour
·
Eight x Limited Waiting bays restricted to a maximum
of 2 hours parking from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday with no
return within 1 hour
·
One x limited Waiting bay (approx. 5 standard
vehicles in length*) restricted to a maximum of 2 hours parking
from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday with no return within 1
hour
·
One x Limited Waiting bay (approx. 3 standard
vehicles in length*) restricted to a maximum of 2 hours parking
from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday with no return within 1
hour
·
Two white advisory ‘H’ bar lines
indicating dropped kerbs.
·
Existing bus stop to be marked out and made
enforceable.
* A standard
vehicle would be equal to the length of a family vehicle such as a
Ford Focus
2.
The introduction of the restrictions is proposed to
regularise the on-street parking provision.
3.
The reason for the decision is to enable better
parking for those visiting the local shops.
4.
To delegate the decision to undertake a statutory
consultation and then implement the restriction (if applicable)
after having received the feedback from the consultations, to the
Head of Commercial Development in consultation with the Portfolio
Holder for Corporate & Commercial Services.
