Purpose
This report details the outcome of an open
tender process for the award of a contract to provide Stop Smoking
services in the community for adults in the borough. The current
Stop Smoking service contract is provided by West London NHS Trust
and is due to expire on 31 March 2025. This report summarises the
procurement approach undertaken and makes a recommendation to award
a new 2-year
contract with a further 2-year extension option.The approximate
annual value of the new contract is £493,000 and the total
value is £1,972,000 including any extension options.
There is additional government investment to
support local stop smoking services.This allocation is part of the
government’s announcement to create a ‘smokefree
generation’.Allocations are likely to continue to be based on
the average smoking prevalence over a 3-year period to ensure the
allocations are based on the most robust and recent data.
