Purpose
This year’s annual public health report
2024/5 is focused on vaping and young people. The report describes
the scale of the public health challenge and concerning rising
trend nationally and locally. Importantly, the report provides
information and insights into why children and young people vape
and how they are acquiring them. Strategies to tackle this rising
challenge are detailed including information on the proposed
Tobacco and Vapes Bill and the role of Trading Standards; national
guidance and support; and local support for children and young
people in the borough.
