Purpose
The Neutral Vendor Service (NVS) provider
contract provides a fast, cost-efficient way to procure low-value
contracts, enabling council to focus its limited resources on the
procurement of larger spend contracts.
The main purpose of the contract is to improve
process efficiency associated with sourcing and onboarding of
suppliers, encourage engagement of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
and leverage economies of scale. This is achieved through the
management of end-to-end sourcing, supplier onboarding and payment
of low value contracts.
The NVS contract was awarded in 2021 for 4
years with optional 2-year extensions and has exceeded its primary
objectives. The contract is accessible to and is being used by
several other public sector organisations and continues to provide
an efficient market solution during a period of change and resource
pressures.
