Cabinet

The Cabinet is responsible for making operational decisions in line with council policy, considering key decisions from the Forward Plan, and providing strategic leadership. It ensures council policies are implemented and monitors service delivery.

The committee advises the council on financial and economic policy, recommends the council tax level, and controls the accounts. It also prepares the community plan in partnership with other agencies, submits an annual best value performance plan, and implements the code of corporate governance. The Cabinet considers submissions from overview committees.
