About
The Harlow and Gilston Garden Town Joint Committee is established to coordinate and facilitate the delivery of a significant new housing development and associated infrastructure by 2033 and beyond.
This committee brings together representatives from five partner councils: Harlow District Council, Epping Forest District Council, East Hertfordshire District Council, Essex County Council, and Hertfordshire County Council. It operates under a formal agreement that outlines democratic accountability, decision-making, risk-sharing, and responsibilities, with Epping Forest District Council acting as the Host and Accountable Body. Decisions made by the committee are subject to public notice at least 28 days in advance.
