About

The Standards Committee promotes and maintains high standards of conduct for all Council Members and Co-opted Members. It advises and assists Town and Parish Councils on conduct matters, manages complaints on their behalf, and reviews the Council's Members' Code of Conduct. The committee hears and determines complaints of misconduct against Members and Co-opted Members, and can grant dispensations if business would be impeded or political balance affected. It also trains Members on observing the Code of Conduct and oversees the council's complaint arrangements.
