Purpose

The council has awarded a new waste contract
to Veolia ES (UK) Ltd with effect from May 2025. In order to
deliver this service the Council needs to grant a sub-lease to them
for the occupation of Buntingford Service Centre which is a base
for the delivery of this service. The lease is for an initial 8
years with the right to extend the lease for a period up to a
maximum of a further 8 years should the term of the contract be
extended. In line with the terms of the contract the rent will be a
peppercorn and the Tenant will be responsible for all repairs,
maintenance and outgoings for the premises as well as for managing
the overall site.

Decision

Grant a sub-lease for the occupation of
Buntingford Service Centre by Veolia ES (UK) Ltd. on the terms
agreed in order to facilitate the delivery of the waste
service.
