Purpose

Courtyard Arts occupy the former stable block
at Port Vale, Hertford under a lease that has expired. The tenant
wishes to renew the lease for a further 20 years in order that they
can continue to provide a community arts centre. Renewing the lease
will maintain a revenue for the council.

to Courtyard Arts

Alternative options considered

Option 1 - Renew the lease on the terms
agreed
Option 2 - Refuse consent, however the Council do not have
sufficient grounds to refuse consent if the matter were to be
referred to court.
