Purpose

This is to renew a previous lease from adjoining landlowner to use land as an over-flow car park for Buntingford Service Centre.

Decision

To enter into a new short term lease of land adjacent to Buntingford Service Centre to use as an over-flow car park for waste contract staff with a term until 31 October 2031, for an initial rent of £8,500 per year from 1 November 2025, subject to mutual annual options to break and index-linked rent reviews every three years.

Alternative options considered

Option 1 - Reject terms and do not take a lease of the car park. NOT RECOMMENDED as the terms are reasonable and rejecting them would leave insufficient parking at the site.se on terms agreed.
Option 2 - Renew as proposed. RECOMMENDED.
