About

The Audit Committee provides independent scrutiny and advice on the council's governance and financial matters. It reviews internal and external audit findings, assesses the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and corporate governance, and monitors compliance with financial regulations and codes of conduct. The committee also scrutinises the annual statement of accounts, treasury management, and property asset strategies. Its role is advisory, supporting those charged with governance by making recommendations to the Governance Committee or Cabinet.
