About

The Sussex & Brighton Strategic Authority is a partnership of East Sussex County Council, West Sussex County Council, and Brighton & Hove City Council, established in 2026. It makes decisions on strategic issues affecting the entire Sussex area, focusing on matters best planned collaboratively across councils rather than individually. The Authority works with local councils on area-wide strategy and secures central government funding and powers, while constituent councils continue to deliver day-to-day services.
