Purpose

On 22 April 2025, the Lead Member for
Resources and Climate Change gave approval to formally declare the
property to be surplus to the operational requirements of the
Council, and to approve the disposal of the asset. The property was
marketed on the open market and offers were submitted by a number
of organisations.

Decision

The property was marketed on the open market
by a local commercial agent. Offers were submitted and then
considered by the Chief Operating Officer. The purchaser was
selected in accordance with Section 123 of the Local Government Act
1972.

Alternative options considered

The property was marketed for sale. No offers
to rent the building were received.
