Purpose
The Lead Member for Resources and Climate Change formally declared Rye Bay Project Office, Rye (the Property) to be surplus to the operational requirements of the Council, approved the disposal of the asset and delegated authority to the Chief Operating Officer to agree the terms of the sale to achieve best value for the Property in accordance with s123 of the Local Government Act 1972, including proceeding with the next best offer(s) in the event of the transaction(s) not completing within the expected timelines. The property was marketed on the open market and offers were submitted by a number of organisations.
Decision
The Property was marketed on the open market by a local commercial agent. Offers were submitted and then considered by the Chief Operating Officer. The purchaser was selected in accordance with Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972.
Alternative options considered
The property was marketed for sale. No offers to rent the building were received.
