Purpose

The Council has agreed that the funding for
the Floating Support Service should be reduced from 1st October
2025. This will require a contract amendment to reflect the reduced
value of the contract and changes to service delivery and
performance targets. The current contract held by BHT Sussex runs
to November 2026 and allows for an extension of up to five
years.

It is proposed to extend the contract for a further three years to
November 2029 with the option to extend for a further 2
years.

Decision

The decision has been made to make use of the
allowed for contract extension with BHT Sussex from November 2026
for a further three years to November 2029 with the option of a
further two year extension to allow for flexibility in future
years.

Alternative options considered

To amend the contract to reflect the change in
funding without making use of the allowed for extension. This would
mean that the contract ends in November 2026 and making use of the
allowed for extension would require additional work at a later
date. This would risk the stability and continuity of service
delivery provided by a longer extension.
