Purpose

Notice is hereby given that East Sussex County
Council have made an Order, under Section 84 (1) and (2) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other
enabling powers, which will reduce the speed limit in the following
length of road:

Decision

30mph Speed Limit
Whitworth Road from the eastern Queensway Gateway Road roundabout
eastwards for 148.9 metres.

40mph Speed Limit
Whitworth Road from the western Queensway Gateway Road roundabout
eastwards for 238.8 metres to the eastern Queensway Gateway Road
roundabout.

A copy of the made Order, plans showing the length of road and a
statement of the Council’s reason for making the Order may be
examined in Hastings Library (Brassey Institute, 13 Claremont,
Hastings, TN34 1HE) and Reception, East Sussex County Council,
County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE Monday to
Friday between 9am and 4pm and online at;

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of its
provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers
conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds
that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has
not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six
weeks of the date of this notice, apply to the High Court for this
purpose.
