Purpose

NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County
Council have made an Order under the relevant sections of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling
powers, which will reduce the speed limit along the following
lengths of road;

Decision

40 mph Speed Limit

B2192 Lewes Road - From a point 206 metres northeast of its
junction with the B2102 High Street, south westwards to a point 50
metres northeast of its junction with Hollow Lane.

C508 Star Lane – From its junction with the B2102 High
Street, south westwards to its junction with the B2192 Lewes
Road.

50 mph Speed Limit
B2192 Lewes Road – From a point 50 metres northeast of its
junction with Hollow Lane, south westwards, then southwards to a
point 165 metres south of its junction with Stonebridge Lane.

A copy of the Order, which will come into effect on 1 December
2025, plan showing the lengths of road and a statement of the
County Council’s reasons for proposing the Order, along with
a copy of the Order being revoked in part can be viewed in
Reception, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s
Crescent, Lewes from Monday to Friday between 9am to 4pm and online

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of
its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers
conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act of 1984, or on the
grounds that any requirement of the Road Traffic Regulation Act or
of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in
relation to the Order, may within six weeks of 28 November 2025,
apply to the High Court for this purpose.
