Purpose

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex
County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision

Old Willingdon Road - from the junction with
C40 Jevington Road to Friston Field.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 2 March & 6
April 2026.

Jevington Road - from the junction with A259 Friston Hill to
Friston Place Cottages.
Diversion via C40 Jevington Road, Wannock Road - A2270 Eastbourne
Road, Willingdon Road, Crossways roundabout, Willingdon Road,
Upperton Road - A259 The Goffs, High Street, Church Street, East
Dean Road, Eastbourne Road, Friston Hill and vice versa.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 27 February &
15 March 2026.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 19 January 2026 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed
above depending upon the weather conditions.
