Purpose

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections
14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, which will temporarily close the following length of
road;

Decision

Temporary Road Closure
Cambridge Road - from the junction with U3162 Dorset Place to the
junction with A21 Cambridge Gardens.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with
an alternative route for through traffic westbound via: A21
Cambridge Gardens, Cornwallis Terrace - U3182 Devonshire Road -
U3169 South Terrace - A2101 Queens Road, Park Gates roundabout -
A2101 St Helens Road - A21 Sedlescombe Road North, London Road,
Bohemia Road, Cambridge Road and eastbound via: A21 Cambridge Road,
Bohemia Road, London Road, Sedlescombe Road North - A2101 St Helens
Road, Queens Road, Queens Parade, Albert Road - A259 Denmark Place
- A21 Harold Place, Havelock Road, A21 Cornwallis Terrace - U3181
Priory Street, A21 Cambridge Road.

The Order commences 23 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 23
& 25 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.
