Purpose

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections
14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of
road;

Temporary Road Closures
Kings Drive / Lewes Road / Bedfordwell Road - from the junction
with A2021 Rodmill roundabout to the junction with A2040 Upper
Avenue
Diversion via A2040 Upper Avenue, Upper Avenue roundabout, The
Avenue - A259 Upperton Road - A2270 Upperton Road, Willingdon Road
- U2103 Rodmill Drive and vice versa.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place from 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs
between 16 October & 11 November 2023

Grand Parade / Marine Parade / Royal Parade - from the junction
with U2160 Addingham Road to the junction with B2106 Grand
Parade
Diversion westbound via C558 Royal Parade – U2180 Royal
Parade, Sovereign roundabout – U2181 Lottbridge Road - A259
Seaside roundabout - A259 Seaside A2021 Whitley Road - A2040 Upper
Avenue, Upper Avenue roundabout, Upper Avenue A259 Station Parade,
Ashford Road, Susans Road, Pevensey Road, Lismore Road, Bolton
Road, Memorial roundabout, B2106 Devonshire Place & eastbound
via B2106 Devonshire Place, Memorial roundabout - U2135 Trinity
Trees - A259 Seaside Road, Seaside, Seaside roundabout –
U2181 Lottbridge Drove - U2190 Sovereign roundabout - U2180 Royal
Parade.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place from 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs
between 19 January & 27 March 2024

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 16 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed
above depending upon the weather conditions.
