Purpose

To appoint a contractor to carry out the
Decarbonisation of Heat Works at Rocks Park Primary School,
Uckfield, TN22 2AY. To enable delivery of a project to move from
fossil fuel to low carbon heat pumps within the timescales required
by the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) 3b grant. These
mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works were placed on the
forward plan as the pre-tender estimate (PTE) indicated there was a
risk that the contract could exceed £500k.

Decision

The contract was awarded to the best value
bidder which was also in line with the pre-tender estimate (PTE).
The decision is based on the consultant tender report findings. The
tender award will enable the delivery of the project within the
timescale dictated by the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme
(PSDS) Phase 3 grant. The project will facilitate carbon reduction
from the move from fossil fuel to low carbon heating and avoid
replacement with a like for like fossil fuel system. Project
delivery will support achievement of CEP and BSD Portfolio plan
targets 2023-25.
