Purpose

The property known as Former Etchingham CE
Primary School site was declared surplus to requirements due to the
property no longer being required for East Sussex County Council
(ESCC) operational purposes.

Marketing and disposal of the property will reduce cost and
liability and will achieve a capital receipt. The capital receipt
will be used as required in line with any directive from the
Department for Education (DfE).

Decision

1) The former school premises (Burgh Hill,
Etchingham, East Sussex, TN19 7PB); and
2) The former car park (land to the south of Burgh Hill,
Etchingham, East Sussex, TN19 7PB)

Agreement to sell the above plots in two separate auction lots at
auction on 17 June 2023. Plot 1 (The former school premises) is to
have a reserve price of £450,000 and Plot 2 (the former car
park) is to have a reserve price of £25,000.

The reserve price has been agreed following discussions with the
auctioneer and in discussion with property services officers,
Rebecca Lewis and Richard Jones.
