Purpose

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that East Sussex County Council has amended the above Experimental Traffic Order, originally made on 30 January 2026 and coming into force on 31 July 2026 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the proposed amendment is to modify the existing ETRO as follows:

Decision

• to change the timings of prohibition and restriction of vehicular access, No Loading and Unloading from between 09:30am and 23:00pm to between 10:00am and 06:00am.

Copies of the Order, plans showing the roads concerned and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may also be examined at Reception, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm.

East Sussex County Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Experimental Order as amended should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person wishing to object to the making of an Order for such indefinite continuation may do so, giving the grounds for the objection, in writing, to MajorProjectsandGrowth@eastsussex.gov.uk by 31 January 2027.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the enabling Act or that a requirement of the enabling Act or any of the relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within six weeks of the date of this notice, make application for that purpose to the High Court.
