Purpose

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Frant Road / Frant Green Road – from the junction with C70 Bunny Lane to the junction with C81 The Green.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C70 Bunny Lane - A26 Eridge Road, Beacon Road, Uckfield Road, Five Ash Down, Mill Pond Road, Uckfield Bypass – A22 Uckfield Bypass, Eastbourne Road, East Hoathly Bypass, South Street, Whitesmith, Holmes Hill, Golden Cross, The Dicker – A267 New North Street, North Street, Eastbourne Road, Horam Road, High Street, Little London Road, Cross in Hand Road, Mayfield Road, Heathfield Road, Mayfield Road, Wellbrook Hill, Wellbrook, Mayfield Bypass, Tunbridge Wells Road, Argos Hill, Mayfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 25 September 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 25 September 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
