Purpose
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections
14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, which will temporarily close the following length of
road;
Decision
Temporary Road Closure
The Drove – from the junction with A259 North Way to the
junction with A259 B&Q roundabout.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with a
route for through traffic westbound via A259 South Way, Brighton
Road, South Coast Road, Marine Drive – A259 Marine Drive
(BHCC) – B2066 Roedean Road (BHCC) - Wilson Avenue (BHCC)
– C9260 Warren Road (BHCC) – B2123 Falmer Road (BHCC)
– B2123 The Drove - A27(T) Brighton Road, Lewes Bypass,
Ranscombe Hill – A26(T) Newhaven Road, Beddingham Road, New
Road – A26 New Road – A259 Drove Road, B&Q
roundabout and eastbound via A259 B&Q roundabout, Drove Road
– A26(T) New Road, Beddingham Road, Newhaven Road –
A27(T) Ranscombe Hill, Lewes Bypass, Brighton Road - B2123 The
Drove – B2123 Falmer Road (BHCC) – C9260 Warren Road
(BHCC) - Wilson Avenue (BHCC) – B2066 Roedean Road (BHCC)
– A259 Marine Drive (BHCC) – A259 Marine Drive, South
Coast Road, Brighton Road, Lewes Road, North Way.
The Order commences 19 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs
to 04:30hrs between 19 & 24 August 2024 depending upon the
weather conditions.
