Purpose

The existing contract for tree works expired in July
2024 and was extended by 1 year to July 2025. The result of the
tendering exercise needs to be approved in accordance with the
Councils Procurement Rules.

That Essex Tree Care
Limited (ETCL) be awarded a
3 year contract, with an option to
extend for a further 3 years for tree works across the district for
the Tendered Sum of £971,168.00 with an overall price and
quality score of 77.7% being the most economically advantageous
received.

Reasons for the decision

The existing contract
for tree works expired in July 2024 and was extended by 1 year to
July 2025. The result of the tendering exercise needs to be
approved in accordance with the Councils Procurement Rules.

Alternative options considered

None, without a
contract in place residents and visitors to the district will be at
risk. The Arboricultural contract forms an integral part of the
Councils tree risk management.
