(1)           
That the Cabinet agreed EFDC would
develop a waste collection service to collect food and garden waste
separately and implement in April 2026, subject to the availability
of food waste vehicles. Food waste would be collected weekly as per
legislation and garden waste to be collected fortnightly.
 
(2)           
That the Cabinet agreed that officers continued discussions with
Essex County Council regarding funding to implement the new food
waste collection service.
 
(3)           
That the Cabinet agreed the introduction of an annual garden waste
subscription charge be determined as part of 2026-27 budget setting
process, that would ensure the service was at least cost
neutral.
